Girlfriend goes on couple’s trip alone, leaves boyfriend at home: ‘He had no respect’

A woman ditched her boyfriend to go on a weekend trip alone.

She asked Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum to weigh in. About three months ago, she and her boyfriend planned a weekend trip from Friday to Sunday.

But when the trip was coming up, she found out her boyfriend never took the Friday off of work. He had ample time and reminders over the past few months.

He wouldn’t be able to get off work until 3:00 p.m. She wanted to leave before then. She told him they could drive up in their separate cars.

“This, apparently, is unacceptable. He refuses to drive up by himself and the only way he will come is if we drive up together,” she wrote.

Now her boyfriend has decided to stay home, and she is wondering if she should have just waited for him.

Redditors sided with the girlfriend on this issue.

“He had no respect for your time, your vacation day or your plans — you do not need to change the holiday for him,” a user wrote.

“He’s manipulating you because he thinks you’ll just capitulate to his schedule,” someone added

“You guys planned this months ago. He forgot after repeated reminders to take off Friday,” another commented
