A woman’s idea for a tattoo she plans to keep secret from her husband is stirring up some serious internet drama.
‘Stupid, no-meaning tattoo’
Exciting_Lemon93 wrote that she already has several tattoos, but they are all positioned in a way that she could still conceal them if she needed to look “professional.”
“My husband, however, hates tattoos. They aren’t his thing, he doesn’t have any and that’s fine,” she said.
In spite of that, the Redditor said she still wanted to get a “stupid, no-meaning tattoo.”
“I want to get a teeny tiny avocado on the side of my big toe… an avoca-toe if you will,” she wrote.
Exciting_Lemon93 said that she discussed the idea with her friends, and a few found it hilarious — but others are “disgusted and disappointed” at the idea, noting that her husband is going to be upset about it.
She said that in spite of her friends’ warnings, she did not have any plans to tell her husband about it— she didn’t want to hide it, but she wanted to see how long it would take for him to notice.
‘Pointless trouble making’
A few people thought her tattoo idea was pretty cute.
“Your body, your choice,” one Redditor commented. “Hahaha avaca-toe. Now I want one.”
“An avoca-toe is hilarious … as your husband, he (should) want you to be happy, and such a tattoo would make you happy,” another said.
Most Redditors thought that was a pretty dumb move, though.
“This is one of the stupidest things I’ve read,” one wrote.
“He will feel like you deceived him or lied through omission, and he’d kinda be right no matter how harmless,” another said.
“This seems like pointless trouble making for no reason at all,” a third remarked.
After all that backlash, she still decided she wants to go through with it, but she did give him a warning that she planned to tattoo her toe soon. He responded by saying “that s***’s going to hurt.”
“I’m taking that as he’s cool with it,” she wrote.
