TikToker records the moment rescue cat realizes he’s found his forever home: ‘He’s waited his whole life to be loved’

A stray cat named Albert, who’s lived a very hard life, has finally found his forever home, and TikTokers around the world have been moved to tears by the touching footage.

The video was uploaded to the TikTok account dedicated to the sweet cat’s journey, @alberts_tail and gained over 6.3 million views and nearly 20,000 comments.

And, just like the footage of the lonely golden retriever who was ecstatic to meet her new little sister on Christmas morning, Albert’s video proves that animals feel emotions just as deeply as humans do.

According to the TikTok account documenting Albert’s emotional journey, the all-white cat lived for two years on the street, fleeing from humans and avoiding rescue.

But on March 3, 2021, Albert was finally brought in from the harsh streets. At the time, a vet examination revealed that Albert was covered in open cuts and wounds, infested with fleas and suffering from extreme dehydration along with swelling.

Vets didn’t think Albert would last more than another week — but after three months of treatment and a lot of love, Albert made a full recovery.

In the now-viral video, Albert is clearly a very different cat than the one brought in from the streets. He’s healthy, happy and full of love to give.

Now, Albert is thriving in his forever home, where he knows he’ll be taken care of for the rest of his days.

Anyone who adopts elderly animals gets to cut the line in heaven…”

Thousands upon thousands of emotional TikTokers reacted to the video in the comments.

“He really said ‘I’m finally home,'” one user wrote.

“I’m sobbing. The gratitude, the relief, the love this precious being feels. Thank you for giving them their forever home,” another user commented.

“You can literally see he’s waited his whole life to be loved,” wrote another user.

“Anyone who adopts elderly animals gets to cut the line in heaven. YOU ARE A SAINT,” commented another user.

“You can see the pain in his eyes. I’m glad he found a loving home to live the rest of his life in comfort,” wrote one user.

Albert’s emotional journey reminds us all to show compassion and warmth to those in need — whether they be our animal friends or our fellow humans. A little love can go a very, very long way.
