Megan Thee Stallion convinced me to try this under-$10 longwear lipstick, and no lies detected, it is good

I’m a less-is-more person when it comes to makeup. As much as I love watching other people apply concealer, highlighter, bronzer, eyeliner, eyeshadow and more, I just don’t have the desire to actually do it myself. Instead, my morning makeup routine consists of applying brow gel, mascara and blush. If I have a video call for work, I’ll get extra fancy and apply lipstick.

Because lipstick is basically my make-or-break beauty product, I’m always on the hunt for good ones. I’m not a fan of super shiny, glossy lipsticks, and I hate formulas that don’t last more than an hour or two because who has time to be constantly reapplying?

I was watching TV one night recently, and I caught Megan Thee Stallion in the commercial for the new REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick. Like everyone else on the face of the earth, I love Meg and trust her beauty guidance wholeheartedly, so I immediately added three shades of the lipstick to my Amazon cart.

When my REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipsticks arrived, I was beyond excited to try them. I got Lip Boom, a pretty universally flattering red shade; In Charge, a pinkish nude; and Tunnel Vision, a more fun magenta option.

REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink Lipstick Review

This is totally random but worth noting: There’s a reviewer on Amazon who talks about how hard these lipsticks are to open. Before ordering my own REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipsticks, I assumed she was being overly dramatic. Now that I have them in hand and can 100% confirm, it’s oddly hard to pull the caps off these lipsticks. Don’t get me wrong — it’s not impossible, and you won’t break a sweat, but you definitely need two hands.

That small note aside, the REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick is perfect. Once the top is off, the lipstick slides smoothly across your lips and deposits even color as you swipe. One swipe is enough for decent color, but you can amp up the intensity by reapplying a few times.

Some other things worth noting:

– The lipstick is long-wearing, but it isn’t 100% transfer-proof. I left lipstick marks on cups after I took a drink while wearing the REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick. That said, the color was vibrant four hours after I first applied it, and I definitely had to use micellar water at night to completely remove the lipstick from my lips before bed.

– The lipstick dries matte, which I find a little bit drying and unforgiving. I feel like I have more lines on my lips than most people, and matte lipstick really seems to make them more noticeable. I also just hate the feeling of dry lips, so my workaround is to apply just the tiniest amount of lip balm under and over the REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick. When I do that, it’s perfection.

Even though it’s only been available for a few weeks, the new REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick already has hundreds of ratings on Amazon and 4.3 out of 5 stars.

“Amazing!” one shopper titled their review. They went on to add, “Great color, stays on great!”

“Best lipstick!” another shopper titled their review. “This is amazing! I love how matte it is and it feels like I have nothing on my lips. Lasts all day long!”

Everyone knows spring and summer are the seasons to have some fun and mix up your makeup routine. Even if you’re like me and don’t have mad skills when it comes to applying makeup, these REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipsticks are a pretty simple way to fool people into thinking you put in a lot of effort when all you really did was choose a fab lipstick.

And hey, if you can’t trust me, trust Megan The Stallion. She looks fire in the REVLON ColorStay Suede Ink lipstick, and, yeah, so will you.
