‘This story will be on my tombstone’: Former retail worker recalls interaction with Robert Downey Jr.

A former retail worker’s allegedly pleasant experience assisting Robert Downey Jr. is making other TikTok users extremely jealous.

Musician Zakry Hayden shared details of his apparent encounter in response to a prompt by @missbeifong, who asked fellow TikTok users to share their “nice” experiences with celebrities as a remedy to all the negative celeb stories on the platform.

“This story will be on my tombstone,” he captioned the video, which has since been viewed over 1.1 million times.

Hayden claimed that one time while he was working at a high-end clothing store pre-pandemic, Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. came into the shop to buy Christmas gifts.

“He came in and he was wearing this really cool jacket,” Hayden said of RDJ. “So I was like, ‘Oh my God, that jacket it’s amazing.’ And he was like, ‘Oh, thank you so much, it’s like the first time I’ve worn it.'”

Fast forward a bit, and RDJ had apparently finished shopping and was checking out with his new purchases. As Hayden was helping him to his car with his bags of Christmas presents, the actor made a move the former retail worker said he’ll never forget.

“He takes the jacket off and he gives it to me and he says, ‘Merry Christmas,'” Hayden claimed.

“And this is it,” he added while holding up the jacket, which appears to be from designer Etro. “And I have Robert Daddy Jr.’s jacket … I have Iron Man’s jacket, I feel like Peter Parker!”

To say fellow TikTokers were jealous is an understatement.

“He does indeed have the best celebrity story you’ll ever hear in your entire life,” one user wrote.

“As soon as you said Robert Downey Jr. I was like no way,” commented another. “I would just die seeing him.”

“I didn’t think I could love RDJ more,” said a third. “This is amazing.”

In February, TikTok user Roxan McDonald went viral after sharing her “nice” experience with legendary late comedian Robin Williams.

The former waitress recalled a time when Williams came into her restaurant to order lunch and instead ended up a longtime customer of the establishment.
