Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish and more adopt dogs while stuck at home

Celebrities have been finding all kinds of ways to stay entertained at home.

Whether it’s giving tours of their homes, recreating famous TV scenes or changing clothes during a handstand, there’s seemingly no limit to how many ways famous people can pass the time in quarantine.

Another option? Giving back to those in need — particularly to tiny, furry friends who might be in need of a home.

That’s how celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Billie Eilish have been spending their free time, joining a long list of new pet parents who have helped bring in rescue dogs amid the global health crisis.

CNBC recently reported that pet adoptions have increased over the past month, with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) logging 70 percent more foster applications than the same period last year.

Cyrus and her boyfriend Cody Simpson adopted their new dog, Bo, in mid-March. Simpson revealed the pup in a series of Instagram photos.

Gomez brought in her new pet around the same time, sharing her “new family member” Daisy in an Instagram Live chat, according to Us Weekly. The 27-year-old said she was inspired by her own friends, before encouraging others to follow suit.

“I know a few friends who are fostering right now, just to give animals a safe place,” Gomez said.

Billie Eilish, meanwhile, brought home her new friend a few weeks after Cyrus and Gomez. In an April 13 post on her Instagram Stories, the Grammy winner introduced her followers to her new puppy.

“As for this little nameless monkey, you are miiiiiiiiiine!!!” Elish wrote, according to Us Weekly.
