“Face masks” are a category of skincare products that shoppers love for all of the variations they come in. From sheet to clay, and everything in between, these are arguably one of the most commonly used product sectors in the beauty space. However, one thing that we likely haven’t seen (until now) is a face mask in a can.

Yep, you read that correctly. Popular and trusted Korean skincare brand Innisfree has released its first canister-contained clay face mask and with over 6,000 “loves” and an overall rating of 4.7 stars, shoppers seem to love it.

While the idea of a face mask in a can may seem ridiculous upon first thought, this is actually a genius idea as it minimizes any messes that can be produced while traveling — a common instance that occurs with jarred masks. Additionally, the included spout provides users with just the right amount of product they need at the time of use.

Described as “a clay mask in a light-as-air mousse,” this product claims to help clear pores of impurities with its star ingredient: Jeju Super Volcanic Clusters. In addition to this benefit, the innovatively housed face mask contains AHAs and BHAs to “dually exfoliate” the skin.

So, you’re probably asking yourself, “What exactly makes these volcanic clusters so beneficial?” The product description states that this particular substance is made of “finely ground hardened volcanic lava that helps absorb excess sebum.”

Boasting a 97 percent recommendation rate by shoppers, this star product appears to ring true to its leading claim, as several reviewers have repeatedly highlighted that they have noticed their pores “decrease in size.”

“I really like this mask compared to some others I’ve used. My face felt very clean and smooth after I washed it off. Over continuous use, I’ve noticed my pores decrease in size,” one shopper wrote, with another echoing a similar sentiment while stressing that “this isn’t your average mask.”

“Once I rinsed it off after the 15 minutes (I always leave on masks for the maximum time frame) I could instantly see my pores were clear and smaller,” the shopper wrote. “My entire face was free of that dull, uneven look. My face felt super clean as well.”
