Like many people, I thought I was so smart canceling my cable subscription and switching to streaming subscriptions. I’m on a budget, and having cable felt too much like paying for something I didn’t use enough.

But now? I have subscriptions to four different streaming services, each with maybe one or two shows I watch. And when I get through all 10 episodes, I basically spend my nights scrolling through shows and movies I’ve already seen or have no interest in watching. Over the last few months, I’ve really started to wonder if having multiple stream subscriptions is really any better than cable. Looking at my bank account, it’s definitely not much cheaper.

Given my TV conundrum, I was intrigued when I heard about the new Sling Freestream service. The first word that caught my attention? Free. Given that I’m already paying over $65 per month for different streaming subscriptions, I really liked the idea of unlocking access to more than 200 live TV channels plus over 40,000 on-demand shows and movies for literally $0. Signing up for Sling Freestream only requires an email address, not a credit card!

The trade-off for Sling Freestream being free to use? There are ads. But honestly, who cares? I appreciate the opportunity to run to the kitchen to grab a snack or take a bathroom break.

If you’re skeptical and think you’ll only find random shows on Sling Freestream, you’re wrong. Not only can you watch popular channels like CBS News, ABC News and Comedy Central, but you can also access shows like Hell’s KitchenThe Walking Dead and more. And folks who need even more content can easily add premium TV, including standalones, plus paid Sling service if that’s what you want.

Not only can you watch Sling Freestream on supported devices by Samsung, Vizio, LG and FireTV, but you can also watch it right from your desktop computer. Just head to sling.com/freestream to get started.
