If you snooze, you lose. And this footwear staple is not one you want to miss out on.
Everlane has announced that its customer favorite, The Modern Loafer, will soon be discontinued. The shoe, launched in October 2014, had its big break when actress Angelina Jolie was photographed in a black pair as she touched down in LAX the following year.
Celebrity fans aside, the 100 percent leather shoe has evidently united people of all backgrounds. Some 3,000 people have already declared their love for the classic staple online, contributing to a near-perfect 4.5-star rating and an undoubted cult status.
Described as an elegant, architectural flat that “feels as good as it looks,” the Modern Loafer is half chrome-tanned and half vegetable-tanned so it keeps its hue over time. A 3/4-inch stacked leather heel also adds an extra air of sophistication to the soft and supple shoe.
Shop: The Modern Loafer, $98 (Orig. $168)
The Modern Loafer is available in three classic shades — black, white and tan — although consider this your final warning to shop the styles while you can as they’re being snapped up at breakneck speed.
The reviews speak for themselves too.
“The shoe is of the finest workmanship in shoe making seldom seen at this price point. They are beautiful too,” one passionate shopper declared.
“I’ll admit it, I’m biased. This is my 3rd pair of Everlane’s Modern Loafer. I finally needed a pair in black and these didn’t disappoint. Comfy, stylish and looks great with office wear or blue jeans. These loafers are my go-to shoes,” added another.
