TikTokers have finally discovered indie-pop star Caroline Polachek and they can’t stop grooving.
The former frontwoman of the pop band Chairlift, Polachek dropped her debut album, Pang, in 2019. But the song “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” didn’t make its way onto TikTok until December 2021. Paper dubbed the track “campy yet tasteful” with an “’80s vibe” so it’s no wonder young people are flocking to it.

In the music video for “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings,” Polachek does a simple choreographed routine in what looks like literal hell. The chorus is the focus of the viral TikTok sound.
“I get a little lonely / Get a little more close to me / You’re the only one who knows me, babe / So hot, you’re hurtin’ my feelings (woo) / Can’t deal,” Polachek sang.
The song has been used in over 8,800 videos on TikTok.
On Dec. 26, 2021, TikToker @secretsfromag1rl did the choreography from the music video and wrote, “confused why everyone on this app is not doing this dance.”
Riverdale’s Camila Mendes joined TikToker @oliviasui to do the fun number.
Meanwhile, @ebony_matheson did the dance to tell off the haters who dared to body shame her.
Drew Barrymore danced to the song as she glammed her face up using “lipstick as blush.”
And of course, Poloachek herself joined in on the TikTok dance, after all, she started it.
