TikTok spring cleaning hacks that will have your house looking brand new

Now that spring has sprung, it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning. While this spring may not be as glorious as years past (since many of us are stuck inside), it is still the perfect time to declutter and cleanse your space.

TikTok has a ton of helpful cleaning and organizing hacks that will make sprucing up your home a whole lot easier. To make your decluttering process a whole lot easier, we’ve rounded up some of the best spring cleaning tips straight from TikTok.

Clean your dishwasher‘s ‘hidden’ filter

TikTok was pretty freaked out to learn dishwasher filters existed — and that they are very gross when you take them out after months or years of going uncleaned and unchecked.

“Public service announcement: Dishwashers have filters and you should clean them,” TikTok user Darbi McGlone said. Make sure to clean your dishwasher filter when you give your house a good deep clean!

Remove tile grout with toilet bowl cleanser

Cynthia Sierra had some unconventional advice for how to clean dirty tile grout. She uses toilet bowl cleaner and an old toothbrush — and believe it or not, it works like a charm!

Clean your mattress with common household items

Vanesa Valdez is a professional housekeeper with tons of cool cleaning tricks. In one of her most viral TikToks, she demonstrates how to properly clean your mattress.

“Did you know that the average human being sweats about a cup of sweat every single night?” Valdez said

She vacuumed the mattress, poured baking soda onto it and let it sit for 10 hours. Once the baking soda had enough time to sit, she vacuumed the mattress again and used her special cleaning mixture (which consists of 2 cups water, 1 cup hydrogen peroxide, 5 drops of clear dish soap and 5 drops of essential oil) to remove stains with a toothbrush.

Clean dirty window blinds with tongs

TikToker Brittanie came up with a creative way to clean her window blinds: by putting old socks on a pair of tongs. They pick up dirt and dust easily and don’t require any extra supplies!

Clean your dusty ceiling fan with an old pillowcase

Stephanie Booth showed how to remove dust from a ceiling fan by cleaning each blade with a pillowcase. This spring cleaning hack prevents the unwanted particles from falling to the floor.

Organize your fridge and pantry with containers

Azure MacCannell organized her fridge using acrylic containers and a lazy Susan. She even created dedicated compartments just for leftovers.

Meanwhile, @honeybobabear used a similar method with buckets and baskets to organize her pantry closet.

Get rid of soap scum with dryer sheets

TikTok user Evelynn cleaned soap scum off her shower using moistened dryer sheets.

Make the kitchen sink feel brand new with baking soda and white vinegar

Pour baking soda, white vinegar and essential oil down the drain to get rid of any clogs, according to @beautycaboodle. The essential oil will also make your sink smell great!
