TikTok slang is always changing and growing. Yet again, people have opted to introduce a new acronym into the fold.
You’ve probably seen the term “STA” floating around in comments, hashtags and captions. If you can’t figure out what it means, you’re not going crazy. Even frequent TikTok users are confused about what it means.
STA actually has more than one meaning and use on TikTok. Here’s what you need to know about the three confusing little letters.
What does STA mean on TikTok?
STA stands for “second time around.” On TikTok, it means you’re watching or understanding something the second time around, because one time just wasn’t enough.
It can also mean “sent to all,” like when a person sends a piece of content to multiple users at once. People may leave “STA” (sent to all) as a comment to let creators know their content was shareable.
‘Second time around’ is also a TikTok sound
The sound isn’t as popular as the acronym on the platform, but it does get some use. It’s not a bad beat, either. TikToker @starbucksrecipeswithm used the sound which features the song “Second Time Around” by Quinn XCII in her flip-a-drink video.
The uplifting song is typically used to score videos about heavier topics like mental health and personal milestones, so be careful what you mix it with.
