Consisting of a delicious filling sandwiched between two slices of buttery bread, stuffed French toast can be customized with tons of tasty ingredients, as demonstrated by the variety of recipes on TikTok. If you’re looking to upgrade your basic breakfast, here are five stuffed French toast recipes that are “toast-ally” delicious.

1. Pistachio cream cheese-stuffed French toast

Pistachio lovers will go nuts for this pistachio cream cheese-stuffed French toast recipe! Make the filling by combining cream cheese, powdered sugar and diced strawberries in a mixing bowl. Next, make the bread batter using milk, double cream, eggs, cinnamon, sugar and vanilla extract. Then spread the filling on a slice of bread, and top with another slice of bread before dipping each side in the bread batter. Transfer the cream cheese-stuffed bread to a skillet with butter, and toast each side over medium heat for four minutes or until golden brown. Finally, top with crushed pistachios, sliced strawberries and a sprinkling of powdered sugar before serving.

2. Bacon-stuffed French toast

This bacon-stuffed French toast is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. First, spread cream cheese and brown sugar on two slices of bread. Next, place a few strips of cooked bacon onto one slice of bread. Then place the other slice of bread on top of the bacon before soaking each side in a batter made from whisked eggs, milk and vanilla. Add butter and vegetable oil to a skillet over medium heat. Then cook the stuffed bread slices for four minutes on each side or until golden brown. Top with maple syrup, and enjoy!

3. Nutella-stuffed French toast

If you enjoy Nutella, you’ll love Nutella-stuffed French toast. First, cut three thick slices of brioche bread. Next, use a knife to hollow out the center of each slice. Then stuff it with Nutella. Next, soak each slice of stuffed brioche in a batter made from an egg, milk, caster sugar and cinnamon. Cook the brioche slices in melted butter on a skillet over medium heat for three minutes on each side. Finally, top with powdered sugar, maple syrup and fresh fruit before serving.

4. Peanut butter-stuffed French toast

Upgrade your basic peanut butter sandwich with this peanut butter-stuffed French toast. Start by making two peanut butter sandwiches. Next, dip each sandwich in a batter made from whisked eggs, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla and cream. Then cook the sandwiches in an oiled skillet over medium heat for three to four minutes on each side. Finally, top with butter, banana slices, powdered sugar, melted peanut butter and maple syrup. Enjoy!

5. Strawberry-stuffed French toast rolls

These strawberry-stuffed French toast rolls raise the stakes when it comes to presentation. First, spread a mix of cream cheese, diced strawberries and powdered sugar on slices of bread with the crusts removed. Next, roll up each slice of bread. Then dip them in a batter made from whisked milk, eggs, sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg and Mexican vanilla blend. Cook the French toast rolls on a buttered skillet until golden brown. Finally, top with powdered sugar, maple syrup and strawberry slices before serving.
