Mini golf just got a major upgrade in New York City. Swingers, “the crazy golf club,” has brought its upscale gaming experience from London to NoMad this summer.
While mini golf is always a good time, it can feel like it’s geared toward a younger crowd. At Swingers, which requires all guests to be 21 and up, mini golf is for grown-ups. With gourmet street food, six cocktail bars and an opulent indoor, garden-like setting, it’s a great spot for a summer hang.
In The Know’s Nick Rudzewick got to tour the upscale joint before its grand opening on June 17.
Swingers first launched in London as a pop-up experience in 2014. But after it was a major success, co-founders Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds made it a staple in the city, along with two more venues in D.C. and now in New York City.
“Swingers NoMad is themed like an English country golf club,” Grech-Smith told In The Know.
Ornate floral decor and 1920s English countryside motifs make Swingers feel like you’re transported across the pond right in NYC. The 23,000-square-foot clubhouse features 20-foot-high ceilings and a selection of golf courses to choose from.
“We have three nine-hole crazy golf courses full of tricks, jumps, moving obstacles, windmills, wheels — everything you’d expect,” Grech-Smith said. “They’re surrounded by cocktail bars, street food vendors and great places to hang out.”
