After winning the 13th season of the cult-favorite, award-winning reality competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race, Symone has taken the world by storm, becoming one of the few queens to transcend drag and become a wider pop culture phenomenon.

Since winning, Symone — also known as the Ebony Enchantress — walked in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show, appeared at the 2021 Met Gala, covered the September 2021 issue of Interview and so much more.

Today, the drag superstar, who’s known for frequently nodding to Black cultural icons like Lil’ Kim, Grace Jones, Diana Ross and more in her art, is on In The Know’s June 2022 cover. She’s sporting a sultry and vibrant look that, in true Symone fashion, features products from two well-respected Black-owned makeup brands: Danessa Myricks Beauty and PAT MCGRATH LABS.

Makeup artist Sterling Tull included four standout products from both brands in this stunning routine to help bring Symone to life on the effervescent cover.

From the super lightweight hybrid Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Foundation to the No. 1 best-selling Mothership V eyeshadow palette by beauty guru and trailblazer Pat McGrath, we’ve listed the four products used from these Black woman-owned brands to achieve this glam look.

Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Foundation, $34

Symone’s flawless complexion is largely thanks to this moisturizing foundation that also protects the skin. The nourishing formula also addresses common skin concerns and the medium-to-buildable coverage makes this perfect for everyday wear.

Best of all, though, the packaging is refillable, making this both Black-owned and sustainable. This foundation currently comes in 26 shades.

Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder, $36

Most blurring powders on the market right now don’t cater to deeper skin tones. However, the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder does so effortlessly with 11 shades to fit every complexion. What’s even better about this product is that it reduces texture while boosting coverage and balancing oil products throughout the day.

Pat McGrath Mothership V: Bronze Seduction Palette, $128

Pat McGrath is one of the most respected and celebrated makeup artists in the industry and has been for years! So, it’s no surprise that her best-selling makeup brand was a part of Symone’s cover look.

The Mothership V: Bronze Seduction eyeshadow palette features some of the most heavily pigmented shimmers and mattes that both enhance what’s already there and amplify what you want to show off.

Danessa Myricks Luxe Cream Palettes – The Nudist, $44

Lastly, like most of Danessa Myrick’s products, the Luxe Cream Palette in the Nude Tones is multipurpose, making it perfect for use on the eyelids, cheeks and lips. Each shade is highly pigmented and smoothing and produces a satin/semi-matte finish that looks beautiful in photos.
