Taco Bell employee baffles internet with behind-the-scenes food prep video

A Taco Bell employee is mystifying people with a video of how the fast food chain’s Cinnamon Twists are made.

On June 14, TikTok user 071823abcm posted a step-by-step tutorial of how Taco Bell employees make the delicious dessert.

According to 071823abcm, the first thing you have to do when you make Cinnamon Twists is throw some noodles in the fryer. Yes, you read that correctly: noodles.

“Noodles in your fryer. Not too much though,” they explained in the video. “You drop it for 40 seconds, then you fry that s***.”

Once the noodles are done frying, you just “sprinkle them with sugar” and they’re good to go.

Judging by the comments on the video, it appears as if many people (myself included) didn’t realize that Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists were just fried pasta.

“It blows my mind that it’s PASTA,” one person said.

“Just regular noodles??? I’m dumbfounded right now,” another user commented.

“ITS NOODLES….????? SAY SIKE…??????” a third person added.

However, some users clarified in the comments that the pasta used to make the Cinnamon Twists isn’t regular rotini, but a special type of puffed wheat called duros.

Another user claimed that Taco Bell uses this specific brand of “wheat twists,” though there’s no way to confirm this. (Amazon users have had success making copycat Cinnamon Twists with this brand, though, so if you feel like giving it a try, these seem promising.)
