Teacher puts picture of ‘favorite student’ in box for class to see in adorable TikTok

This video of a teacher showing her class her favorite student is too sweet for words!

TikToker Jessica Luke (@mrslukeslab) is a science teacher and self-described “real life Ms. Frizzle,” who posts clips of teaching tips, tricks, and fun moments with her students. Recently, Luke shared a video where she had her class look inside of a box to see the picture of her favorite student, and viewers’ hearts are melting over the wholesome content.

The video begins with a shot of Luke’s students sitting at their desks in the classroom. One of her students approaches a cardboard box located on the table in the center of the room and looks inside.

Luke explains in the on-screen text that she told her class that she had put a picture of her favorite student in the box.

The video cuts to a montage of students’ elated reactions after they take a peek inside the box. Each student was convinced their picture would be the one tucked inside the box, and they weren’t wrong.

It turns out that Luke placed a mirror inside of the box, so when each student looked to find out who the “favorite student” was, they would see their reflection staring back, indicating that every one of Luke’s students are her favorite.

Luke’s heartwarming video definitely pulled a few heartstrings on TikTok

“[The fact that] they all thought it would be them shows [that] you truly treat them [equally]. You’re changing lives,” one user complimented.

“[I’m] crying because a lot of my teachers were so mean to me growing up. This is the type of role model every kid needs,” said one TikToker.

“This is a story you tell people when they ask who your favorite teacher was,” one viewer noted.

If the comments are any indicator, having a nurturing and thoughtful teacher can make a world of difference in a student’s life.
