Teacher’s strict bathroom policy dubbed the ‘strangest power trip’ by Reddit

A teacher’s obscenely strict bathroom policy has Redditors talking.

A photo of the nine-step procedure each student must complete when going to the loo was posted in Reddit’s “Mildly Infuriating” forum. It’s hard to believe that an authority figure with the sole job of educating young people would ever say that “restroom passes” are for “emergency usage only,” but here we are.

Step one stated, “Realize that restroom passes are intended for EMERGENCY usage only.” Steps two and three required students to ask for permission and relinquish their cellphone. They then had to “recite the answer to the quick question,” go to the bathroom, recall the answer and get their phone back.

The Redditor explained in a comment that the “quick question” was an art trivia question they were intended to ponder while on the toilet.

Once again, in step eight, students were required to “realize that excessive EMERGENCY trips to the restroom will be cause to contact parent/guardian out of concern for possible health issues.” Only then can the student “experience RELIEF” in step nine.

No one could understand or get behind the ridiculous set of bathroom rules.

“This has always seemed like the strangest power trip to me,” a user wrote

“Hall passes and refusing children to use the bathroom over fear that they’ll just wander around, is the dumbest thing. It’s natural body functions, teachers need to quit being dunces,” a person added

“With a policy like this I’d just get up and go. Ain’t nobody got time for a security checkpoint,” a Redditor said
