Snagging a pair of tickets to Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” definitely wasn’t easy, but one mom on TikTok says she went to great lengths to get them for her daughter’s upcoming birthday. So, when it came time to spill the beans, she wanted the moment to be extra special.
Luckily, Ashley Kunz (@ashleykunzartist) just so happens to be an artist, and after pushing her creativity to the max, she came up with an elaborate pop-up surprise box to announce the news to her daughter.
“So this is the box I made for Autumn to show her that she has tickets to Taylor Swift,” Kunz says in one video. “So I printed out little concert tickets, [put] this little pop-up Taylor on a stage and then me and Autumn in the audience.”
A little tab at the bottom of the box even reveals a hidden card that has the arena’s seating chart on it, just to show how close Autumn and her mom will be.
According to Kunz’s TikTok caption, she spent 10 hours trying to get tickets on presale day, but just like so many other hopeful fans, she came up empty. Luckily, she was finally able to score two tickets when Ticketmaster sent out a “second chance” email, which she hopped right on.
In a follow-up video, Kunz filmed her daughter’s reaction after opening the box — and let’s just say it was a pretty incredible moment.
Even after opening the box — as her mom tossed confetti and played Swift’s single “You Need to Calm Down” — Autumn could not believe what she was seeing.
“Mom! Mom!” the teen said while bringing her hands to her face. “Is this for real?”
In her post caption, Kunz later shared that Autumn continued to be in shock all night, saying, “I’m going to see Taylor Alison Swift!”
In the comments, people couldn’t help but get a little emotional.
“I would cry forever if someone did this for me,” one person commented on the first video.
“I’d sob throw up and scream this is so cute,” added another.
But for the most part, a lot of TikTokers simply gave Kunz a round of applause for being so talented, thoughtful and generous.
“That is so awesome!” one person wrote. “Good job mom!!”
