The new stuck at home hobby is … making squirrel furniture?

A Florida woman has spawned a vial new hobby after sharing the way she’s been staying entertained at home.

The woman, Lucy Small shared the idea to Twitter on March 31, quickly spawning hundreds of responses from users who decided to follow suit.

Small’s at-home hobby? Gifting pieces of furniture to the squirrels in her backyard.

“2 weeks of isolation and we’re out here making picnic tables for squirrels because we’re insane,” Small captioned her now-viral image.

The tiny picnic table, which Small later revealed was designed by Pennsylvania-based crafts salesman Rick Kalinowski, was an instant hit online. Almost immediately, other Twitter users began sharing their own squirrel furniture.

“I am soooo making one of those,” one user wrote.

“I built a prototype and once it’s finished, I’ll publish plans,” another shared.

Others used the opportunity to share that they’d found similar hobbies while stuck at home.

“I’m so glad I’m not the only weirdo who has been spending a lot more time with my squirrels as of late,” one user commented.

Rick Kalinowski, who designed Small’s picnic table, told the Dodo that he created the furniture to help out the squirrels in his yard, which he’d always had a soft spot for.

“I really believe they love it,” Kalinowski said.

And for those looking to follow suit, Kalinowski’s tables are now up for sale on Etsy. The tables come both assembled or as a box of parts with instructions, so squirrel-lovers can put their own table together. You can order the tables here.
