The one $19 gadget I absolutely refuse to travel without

Over the past three years, I’ve visited 16 different countries, with four more destinations slated before the end of the decade. And while my travel necessities have changed with time — as swimsuits fade and sandals fall apart — one gadget has remained at the top of my packing checklist since I received it as a gift on a fateful Christmas in 2016.

The Saunorch Universal International Travel Power Adapter should be a staple item in the carry-on bag of all international travelers. Costing just $19, this budget-friendly device comes equipped with one universal socket and four USB ports, so you can finally stop fighting with your travel companions over who gets to charge their phone overnight.

Most importantly, it can be plugged into outlets in over 150 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Germany, Japan, China, India, Italy, Brazil and the Middle East.

We simply have no choice but to stan.

The device’s all-in-one design means no more traveling with a nightmare ziplock bag of interchangeable plug extenders in your suitcase (an organizational nightmare, if I, a Virgo, must say). The international adapters are all accessed by sliding one of four neatly labeled switches on the side of the device.

Type A’s of the world, rejoice.

It seems I’m not alone in my absolute obsession with the adapter — the crowd-pleaser has racked up over 600 positive reviews on Amazon from travelers who agree they could not survive without it.

“I was apprehensive ordering this as there are so many different similar ones available on Amazon and it seemed unclear which actually worked,” wrote one customer . “We took this on a trip to London, Iceland, Norway, and Denmark to charge our phones, iPad, baby monitor, and MacBook Pro. Worked great!!”

“Since most of the plugs are USB it did not fall out of the socket in the Airbnb’s that we stayed, since it wasn’t being weighed down by multiple heavy plugs,” they added. “Would buy again, though hopefully I won’t need to since it powers all the devices we need all at the same time!”

“We just returned from a trip to Ireland and Iceland and this little guy was one of the best tools we brought on the trip,” commented another reviewer. “Over the course of 8 days, we hit 4 VRBOs so we did a lot of packing and unpacking. When doing that much movement with the usual phones, smart watches, tablets, etc., it can be daunting. This made it a breeze.”

Buy it here for the world traveler in your life … or maybe just get one for yourself.?
