Xbox has been at the front lines of console gaming since it was introduced way back in 2001, and both the Xbox Series X and Series S are keeping the legacy afloat with their state-of-the-art hardware, playability, and winning roster of games. In this episode of Game On, host DJ Steph sits down with Afropunk’s Mike Bitter (@geeklifemike) to discuss all things Xbox, including a breakdown of Xbox Series X|S, as well as the must-have games that Xbox players need to check out.

Mike kicks things off by explaining the difference between the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X. “If you’re buying the X, you’re buying it because you want 4K, you want to use physical discs, you want more options in your resolution and the quality of your gameplay,” he says. Meanwhile, the Series S is the more affordable option, and while it doesn’t have the same hardware capabilities as the Series X, it’s more portable and has enough technical chops to suit most gamers.

As far as Xbox games go, Mike and DJ Steph highlight Far Cry 6 Gold Edition, which “allows access to both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S,” according to DJ Steph. In addition to the game itself, the Gold Edition also features an add-on that lets players play as their favorite Far Cry villains.

The next game on the duo’s list is Battlefield 2042, a first-person shooter that “marks the return to the iconic all-out warfare of the franchise.” When played on the Xbox Series X|S, Battlefield 2042 has support for 128 players at once, as opposed to 64 players on the Xbox One.

Whether you go with the Xbox Series X or the Series S, there will definitely be plenty of awesome games for you to choose from—and with more titles on the way, you’ll be happy to have access to Xbox’s ever-growing library.
