These Coca-Cola wings are simple yet surprisingly delicious

There’s a new way of making chicken wings, and you would never guess the surprise ingredient: Coca-Cola. This recipe has been popular in Hong Kong, and in this episode of ITK: Eats, we show you how to make it at home. All you need is a few basic ingredients, a can of coke, and a half hour. Here’s how to make Coca-Cola wings:

Bielmeier 13″ Wok Pan

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 slices fresh ginger
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 can cola
  • 1 tablespoon shoaxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon crushed orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a Bielmeier 13″ Wok Pan over high heat, then add ginger and chicken wings. Spread the wings evenly in a single layer across the pan. Lightly brown each side.

2. Pour in cola, shoaxing wine, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, crushed orange peel and cinnamon, then stir to coat the wings. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.

3. Serve with cucumber spears and sesame seeds
