If necessity is the mother of invention that explains the recent crop of hygiene-centered products like PhoneSoap, a portable phone sanitizer, or hands-free door handles. In the wake of Covid-19, people don’t want to take any risks.
Grocery stores are one of the more difficult places to socially distance, which is where HandlePop comes in. The new silicone covers attach to shopping cart handles so you don’t have to touch them with your bare hands or the same gloves you’re using to pick your food.
Whereas disposable wipes and gloves can be wasteful, HandlePops are reusable. Each pack comes with a set of two. They easily clip on and off of the cart to create a friendly and functional barrier between you and a whole lot of bacteria.
There are 18 times more germs on shopping cart handles than a public toilet seat, according to the product’s Kickstarter. The dishwasher safe handles are made in the USA with food-grade silicone that’s also free of chemical fillers like BPA and BPS.
When Cheddar shared a HandlePop demo on Facebook there were definitely a few interested parties.
“I saw where people are putting Saran Wrap around cart handles. Great idea!” one Facebook user commented.
“Smart and simple,” another added.
“Love it,” one person wrote.
While HandlePop’s Kickstarter is already over-funded there’s still a few weeks left to contribute, earn rewards and secure your own stash of the protective covers.
