When temperatures drop, there’s nothing like cozying up with a warm pasta dish, such as this rich and creamy spaghetti carbonara. Made with an addition of fresh Brussels sprouts, this recipe offers a new twist on an old favorite comfort food classic. Equally as delicious as it is simple to whip up, this spaghetti carbonara recipe is a perfect go-to hearty meal that will surely become a regular part of your rotation! 


  • Salt
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish



  1. Start by adding a sprinkling of salt to a pot of boiling water, followed by the spaghetti. Once the spaghetti is cooked, strain and set aside. 
  1. Cook the chopped bacon in a pan until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel on a dish and set aside. 
  1. Add thinly sliced Brussels sprouts to the pan and season them with a pinch of salt before cooking on medium-low heat for 1 minute. Transfer to a bowl and set aside. 
  1. Whisk together the egg yolks and Parmesan cheese in a bowl. 
  1. Add olive oil and chopped garlic cloves to the pan, followed by the cooked spaghetti, the egg yolk-Parmesan mix, the cooked Brussels sprouts, and the cooked bacon bits, then thoroughly combine everything in the pan over medium-low heat.
  2. Transfer the pasta mix from the pan to a plate, then garnish with Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and flaky sea salt.
