TikTok foodie breaks down how to make that viral cloud bread

Matthew Merril is a former “Kids Baking Championship” competitor and young foodie. You can find quick tutorials on three-ingredient cookiesavocado brownies and Dorito-encrusted mozzarella sticks on Merril’s TikTok page

But sometimes you want a treat that’s a little more Instagrammable. Enter cloud bread. It’s taken social media by storm because it’s gluten-free, keto-friendly and can be customized to any color of your choosing.

Merril’s blue cloud bread recipe is easy to follow and the result is stunning. Not to mention, he says it tastes just like meringue.

Start by separating three eggs. Place only the whites in a bowl. You’ll then want to whip them until the eggs become frothy. Add 30 grams of sugar and mix together. Then add 10 grams of cornstarch and mix together. Merril added blue food coloring and vanilla extract to give it a cool color and flavor.

Next, whip until the batter becomes so stiff you can flip the bowl over your head without it falling out like Merril. Place the dough on a baking sheet with parchment paper. You can now shape it into whatever you choose. Merril does a dome-shaped loaf. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.

Now, pop it out of the oven, pull the colorful dough apart and enjoy.

Merril’s recipe scored 7.4 million on TikTok.

“I actually made it myself, it’s delicious. I really like the recipe!” one user wrote

“Dying to make this!” one person said

“I’m going to make it today!” another commented
