Here’s where this trending Destiny’s Child ‘Lose My Breath’ remix started

Beyoncé content, whether on TikTok or the internet in general, seems to have a better chance of going viral. That doesn’t change when it comes to Destiny’s Child either, with this throwback from the 2000s R&B group trending on TikTok

Destiny’s Child’s 2004 song “Lose My Breath” is in thousands of TikToks but in an altered state.

DJ and producer Skelecta (@skelectauk) made a mashup of “Lose My Breath” and Daniel Bedingfield’s 2001 song “Gotta Get Thru This” at a Keep Hush (@KeepHushUK) event. The mix speeds up both songs to provide a bubblier version that fits the Speed Garage sound Skelecta was curating.

This version of the song spread quickly across TikTok after Skelecta posted the sound. It currently has over 20,000 videos attached to it.

The song has several uses, but the main one is an extension of an already-viral meme.

TikTokers are using a video of a random baby giving a thumbs up to support certain questions. For example, Mariana (@nwmariana) made a video about her sister and her’s dinner habits.

Skelecta’s remix is just another in a long line of mashups that have gone viral on TikTok. From professional DJs to regular TikTok users, mixing two songs together to create a new energy is one of the most popular things to do on the app.

Right now, one of the most viral mashups is Ice Spice’s “In Ha Mood” and Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” — which you may have seen with cartoon dancing dogs

There seems to be a new mashup every day on TikTok, and Skelecta was able to capitalize on the app’s obsession with fusing songs.
