Instead of waxing poetic about how viral TikTok products have changed the shopping industry for good, I’m just going to cut to the chase. My name is Sarah and I am easily influenced by TikTok influencers.
Because I am so easily influenced, I have spent a hell of a lot of money on all of the TikTok products that crossed my FYP. In fact, one week there were so many deliveries sitting in my building lobby that my boyfriend suggested making a fort out of all the cardboard boxes.
But you’re not here to read about my online shopping addiction; you’re here to find out if I put that to good use and can give you the lowdown on what products are worth it.
Well, keep on scrolling for a list of all of the TikTok products I’ve bought this year and laugh at my empty bank account.
1. Alo Varsity Tennis Skirt, $68
Was it worth it?: Yes, absolutely. Do I play tennis? No. Do I look cute as hell wearing this with a sweatshirt and white sneakers? Absolutely.
2. NuFACE Mini Starter Kit, $209
Was it worth it?: I mean, I have actual cheekbones now and a morning self care routine I love deeply thanks to this little machine. Peep the TikTok that influenced me to finally buy this right here.
3. Caraway Non-Stick Cookware Set, $395 (Orig. $545)
Was it worth it?: My name is now Julia Child. (Yes, it’s a big yes.)
4. Squared Away Stackable Refrigerator Bin, $17
Was it worth it?: Eh, maybe if you’re more organized than me. They keep my fridge neat for about one day before I stop using them and throw the cheese with the veggies and the leftovers on top of the yogurt.
5. Brita Basic Faucet Water Filter System, $19.88
Was it worth it?: Five out of five hydrated bodies agree that this is the best kitchen purchase.
6. K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask, $29 – $75
Was it worth it?: Look, I hate to break your heart here, but it just was not for me. However, I am the only one in the world who feels that way, so I guess it is? I’m going to stay with my tried and true Olaplex. Still, the TikTok marketing was truly top-tier.
7. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, $44
Was it worth it?: If I didn’t know the horrors of sleeping in makeup, I would wear this to bed in a heartbeat.
8. COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Power Repairing Essence, $20 (Orig. $23)
Was it worth it?: Hoo boy, did I want to love this product. While it did leave my skin ultra-hydrated and plump, it did cause my very oily, very sensitive acne-prone skin to break out. But even dermatologists are out here recommending it, and everyone’s face is different! Bonus points for the affordable price tag, though.
9. Shower Cat Hair Catcher, Snare, and Drain Protector, $14.95
Was it worth it?: I’m not saying this saved my relationship, but I’m not not saying that.
10: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, $9.42 (Orig. $17)
Was it worth it?: True story, today I was late for work because I couldn’t stop reading it until I was finished.
11. Abercrombie & Fitch Curve Love 90s Ultra High Rise Straight Jeans, $74.25 (Orig. $99)
Was it worth it?: 100/10 agree that I should be buried in these jeans because they look stupidly hot on everyone.
12. Dieux Forever Eye Masks, $25
Was it worth it?: No “brightening” eye cream has worked half as well as these reusable silicone masks to get rid of my dark circles.
13. Clean Reserve Acqua Neroli, $28 – $98
Was it worth it?: Only if you enjoy the smell of the fresh Amalfi coast sunshine.
