This viral lash hack was so easy In The Know had to test it out.

TikTok went wild when Kat, a makeup artist and founder of Scratched by Kat, shared the eyelash tip on her account xxkatnbootz. The guru managed to give her bottom lashes an extra pop using only a small set of tweezers and her favorite mascara.

In The Know’s Lisa Azcona decided to give her first impressions on the trendy trick.

“I’m super excited to try this. I don’t typically add mascara to my bottom eyelashes so I am excited to see the results,” Azcona says.

The hack is simple enough. Apply mascara onto a small pair of tweezers. Then use the tweezers to define each bottom lash one-by-one. The lashes should look fuller, longer and more defined — almost like supermodel Twiggy’s signature look

“I feel like it actually worked,” Azcona declares.

However, she did have one reservation about the process.

“It’s a bit time-consuming because obviously you want to be extra gentle with the lashes,” she says. “This hack is definitely for someone who takes their time doing their makeup in the morning.”

However, there were multiple benefits to using the tweezers.

“It helps you de-clump those areas that have an excess of mascara,” Azcona says. “I also love the control that it gives you to style your lashes the way that you want them. Which is awesome.”

“Okay, sis. Come through with the makeup hack,” one user wrote

“Omg. Love that you shared. I have been trying to figure something out for years. You made my day,” another said

“Learn something new every day. I’m here for this,” one user added.

If you’re in the market for a new mascara, In The Know has got some favorites for you.

Maybelline New York’s New York Great Lash Mascara is the beginner-friendly mascara for makeup lovers of all ages. At $4.77, it’s suitable for most budgets all the while promising a clump-free, lash-conditioning experience. Oh, and it’s available in three shades of black.

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is not only a steal at $4.99, but it also has 35,578 near five-star ratings on Amazon. One reviewer found it to be a dupe for a more expensive brand and said, “It provides dramatic length and great volume.”

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara takes inspiration from the female form. At $26 the vegan-friendly, cruelty-free mascara has an hour-glass shaped brush that mimics the bust-waist-hip ratio of Marilyn Monroe.

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara is perfect for those who prefer thinner mascara brushes. For $24, it lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. The mascara’s spoolie is designed to be used horizontally for lengthening and volumizing and vertically to lift, define and curl even the teeniest lashes.

As for tweezers go, we recommend Tweezerman’s Slant Tweezer. The $15 pair is professional quality and has a 25-degree slanted tip designed for working against the angles and curves of the brow bone.
