There are few trends that TikTok can’t convince me to try. The latest product the app influenced me to buy? A tooth whitening pen.

Though I don’t care too much about how pearly white my teeth look, I’ve been sipping a lot more coffee these days. TikTok is full of beauty trends that you don’t have to feel bad about if you mess up, so I decided this was one to try without fear.

There are a plethora of teeth whitening pens and products that TikTokers have shared as their go-to. For my test, I went with the Spotlight Oral Care, which only costs $20. Plus, it’s free from gluten, sulfates and parabens.

Before testing this whitening pen, I brushed my teeth with my electric toothbrush from Vanity Planet. Then, I used Lush’s Boom Toothy Tabs and mouthwash. After trying the tooth whitening pen for just two days, I’m high-key a believer in these viral gems.

How To Use A Tooth Whitening Pen

Two days was honestly enough to notice a difference in the appearance of my teeth. To use the pen from Spotlight Oral Care, you just need twist the bottom of the pen until the gel comes out of the bristles. Then, apply the gel to each tooth for whitening. The only catch with this tooth whitening pen? You have to leave the gel on for five minutes before rinsing.

Final Results

The pen actually did its job. With consistent use, it’s easy to tell this pen will really work its magic over time. My teeth are visibly whiter, and look a lot healthier than before. Plus, for $20 it’s worth it to have a white smile at a moment’s notice in your bag.
