TSA agent tricks traveler into taking off her clothes

A woman was tricked by a federal TSA agent into removing her shirt and bra, as well as opening her pants, in what she thought was a routine procedure.

The TSA agent was arrested on Feb. 6.

The unidentified woman was traveling through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) — one of the world’s busiest airports — in June, when Johnathon Lomeli asked her to let him look inside her bra to “make sure she wasn’t hiding anything.”

Next, he told her to hold open her pants so he could check inside there as well. It was not reported whether the woman was traveling alone or not.

Lomeli then told the woman that he had to take her to a private room for further screening, but while in the elevator, asked her to remove her shirt and bra so he could again be sure she wasn’t hiding anything. He checked her pants one more time and then told her she was free to go before they ever reached the aforementioned “private room.”

“There is no excuse for this kind of alleged behavior,” Attorney General Xavier Becerra said in a statement.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that the case was presented to her by the TSA months ago after there was an official complaint filed against Lomeli for “improperly screening at least one woman in a private area of the airport,” according to Fox News.

The TSA said in a statement that the alleged behavior was “unacceptable and an affront to the hardworking and committed members of our workforce.”

Lomeli had been fired from his job following the initial report to the FBI, but only now has been arrested. He’s reportedly being held in lieu of a $50,000 bail.
