Parents of picky eaters rejoice, these turkey zucchini meatballs will have the ficklest of palates clamoring for more.

Lean turkey is a great ground beef alternative because it has less saturated fat, making it the heart-healthy choice. Meanwhile, zucchini is nutrient-dense with beneficial compounds like carotenoids antioxidants, potassium, vitamin A and fiber.

Thus, adults and growing kids will both want to dig into this tasty protein-rich lunch or dinner.

  1. Grate the zucchini and snip a few pieces of basil.

2. Combine the zucchini and basil with the ground turkey in a bowl. Add the garlic, parmesan, a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper to the bowl.

3. Use your hands to meld the ingredients. Then roll the meat into small balls about the size of two tablespoons each.

4. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and cook the meatballs for roughly three to four minutes or until golden brown on both sides.

5. Now grab a plate of spaghetti and add the tomato sauce. Finally, top the pasta with a few of the warm turkey zucchini meatballs and enjoy.
