Following a vegan diet doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a delicious sushi roll! Creative TikTok chefs have developed plenty of imaginative and, most importantly, delicious vegan sushi recipes. Whether you’re looking for a roll inspired by classic fish-based sushi or are interested in a truly unique vegan take on the popular Japanese dish, TikTok chefs have got you covered. Here are five delicious vegan sushi rolls from TikTok. 

1. Vegan spicy ‘tuna’ roll

This vegan spicy tuna roll recipe uses boiled tomatoes in place of tuna. To make it, make a 1-inch cut in the skin of two tomatoes and boil them until the skin starts to peel. Then, transfer the tomatoes into a bowl of ice water. Once the tomatoes cool, remove the skin and dice them roughly, discarding the seeds and liquid parts. Place the tomatoes in a bowl, and add sesame oil, vegan mayonnaise, salt, coconut milk and sriracha. Strain out any excess liquid. Then add your spicy “tuna” to a nori sheet with rice and avocado.

If you’re a fan of fried foods, this vegan tempura heart of palm sushi is for you. Start by slicing hearts of palm in half. Then dip them in tempura batter mix, and fry in grape-seed oil. Next, spread rice on a nori sheet and place the fried hearts of palm on top. Top with vegan cream cheese and jalapeños. Then roll up your sushi, slice it, and garnish with vegan cilantro jalapeño mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce.

3. Vegan tofu, mango and carrot sushi

This vegan sushi roll is packed with delicious fruits and veggies. Start by spreading sushi rice on a sheet of nori. 5. Low-carb vegan cucumber roll

For a low-carb, keto-friendly, vegan sushi option, try this delicious cucumber roll stuffed with vegan tuna. To make it, thinly slice a cucumber. Then lay out the slices to create your sushi wrapper. Use a towel to remove any excess liquid. Then add vegan cream cheese, vegan tuna and avocado, and roll up your sushi.
