TikToker Bryan James (@bryanjames.music) is a musician who spends most of his time living and working on cruise ships. Recently, James shared a video showing what food looks like for the crew “below deck” on a cruise ship, and it’s pretty incredible.
“So what’s food like below deck for crew?” James’ narration asks at the beginning of the clip.
“Well, it changes quite a bit,” he notes over footage of fresh fruit, parfaits and a full salad bar. “Today, we’ve got a crepe section,” he explains, showing a gourmet spread complete with an array of toppings and crepes made fresh on the spot.
“And then we’ve got typical salad bar stuff. That doesn’t really change,” James says while the camera pans over “fresh jalapeños and fresh this and fresh that.”
James then moves on to show a variety of beautifully displayed “cheeses and meats and just pretty much anything you could want at a buffet.”
“I could eat up at the buffet with the guests, but honestly, it’s just easy to eat down here, and the food is really good, so I don’t really have any complaints,” he notes before showing the colorful assortment of desserts.
While James mentions that he’s “not a dessert person,” he can’t deny the “so many very, very good desserts,” including éclairs and key lime pie.
Last but not least, viewers get a shot of the crew’s “plain and simple” dining quarters, featuring an enhanced cafeteria-style layout with round tables and comfy chairs.
“Dear God, I’d never leave.”
Viewers were salivating over the delicious medley of treats, with many of them surprised to discover that the food below deck on a cruise ship could be this good.
“Dear God, I’d never leave,” one user wrote.
“Why am I getting ‘career change vibes’? They feed the crew like kings and queens. That’s awesome,” another viewer enthused.
If the food is this good for the crew on all cruise ships, it’s no surprise that James’ video has many TikTokers considering a career change!
