You’ve probably seen the acronym “SB” thrown around on Snapchat, but are you sure you really know what it means?
Keeping up with social media terminology can get confusing, especially when certain acronyms overlap and change depending on which platform you’re on. For example, some people use SB as an abbreviation for “somebody” when texting — but it means something entirely different on Snapchat.
However, there’s no need to feel left out of the ever-evolving internet slang. As it turns out, the two little letters really aren’t that complicated at all.
So, what does SB stand for on Snapchat? It’s simple: Snap back. No, not like the baseball cap. It means “snap back” as in “Send back a Snapchat, pretty please.”
To see if you’ve gotten an SB, check your Snapchat notifications at the bottom left corner, where it will show all of your unread Snaps or incoming photos.
FYI: When you and the same person continue sending each other Snaps back and forth, it’s known as a Snapstreak.
