TikTok users are sharing the weird things they think about in a new trend

Yes, iCarly is getting a reboot, but the show’s legacy never went away — at least not on TikTok

The “What’s Gibby thinking about?” meme has users sharing their deepest thoughts by reviving a sketch from the classic Nickelodeon sitcom.

Where did the original audio come from?

The meme grabs the audio from the “What’s Gibby thinking about?” jingle (the song’s lyrics are the same as its title) that opened each iteration of the recurring skit about Carly’s little brother Gibby.

How did the trend start?

The TikTok trend uses the same format as the original iCarly sketch. The theme plays, then the camera cuts to reveal what Gibby — or in this case a TikToker — is really thinking about. Hint: it’s usually something totally absurd.

For some reason, in the TikTok meme, the music also cuts to George Michael’s song “Careless Whisper” before revealing the user’s inner thoughts. There are currently over 435,000 videos created using the sound. Meanwhile, the hashtag #ThinkingAbout has over 1.2 billion views.

In one of the first videos of the meme, @z25richter wondered if soy milk is just regular milk introducing itself in Spanish.

Then popular TikToker Sienna Mae Gomez earned 12.4 million views when she basically just thought about how fierce she looks in a bathing suit.

“I love your personality and confidence,” one user wrote

“And that’s on loving yourself, periodt,” another said

Another user named @vanhoe was thinking more about the holidays. Actually, she was specifically thinking about minimalist nativity sets (which are literally just boxes with balls, apparently).

“Ironically, minimalists really be doing the most,” one person said.

“This feels so wrong,” someone commented.
