This summer, my style mantra is cool, casual, a little bit beachy and totally comfortable. I’m going for Gwyneth Paltrow meets Sincerely Jules vibes. That’s why, when I saw this breezy white dress on sale at J.Crew, I immediately had to have it.
OK, I actually bought the Squareneck Soft Gauze Dress in white and black, and I love the style so much that I may purchase it again in one more color. It’s incredibly comfortable and can be worn with flip-flops, converse sneakers or even heels for a more dressed-up look.
J.Crew Squareneck Soft Gauze Dress, $74.50–$105.99 (Orig. $118)
A few more highlights: The square-neck dress is a light, cotton gauze material that you don’t need to steam or iron. It has feminine Bridgerton-esque long sleeves and an empire waist to make you feel like a legit princess. It also has a stretchy smocked back so you can slip it on and go.
Oh yeah, and one more thing: This dress has pockets!
I tried the dress on in-store and decided to go one size down from my regular size. Otherwise, the sleeves seemed to slip off a bit. Due to the smocked back, sizing down was no big deal — the dress stretches to hug my body perfectly.
The Squareneck Soft Gauze Dress comes in six colors, and they’re all on sale. The white, pink and hydrangea blue are all $43.50 off, while the light blue is $23 off, the classic green is $18 off and the black is $12 off. The dress also comes in classic and tall sizes ranging from XS to 3X.
If you’re looking for a dress that’s cute, super comfy and easily accessorized, try this one while it’s on sale. Trust me: You’ll want to wear it everywhere this summer.
