Who is Sammie-Jo Hailford and what is she famous for?

A TikTok mom is causing a stir because of her large, dramatic eyebrows.

Sammie-Jo Hailford has over 98,000 followers on TikTok. The 27-year-old mother of two from Grimsby, England is known for her comedy videos about her dating and social life. However, most of Hailford’s audience seems to focus on her unusual eyebrows. Some have even threatened to report her as an unfit mother because of them.

Why does Sammie-Jo Hailford have large eyebrows?

Hailford began using liquid liner to draw on her giant brows in 2021. It was a way of navigating rigid beauty standards.

“I’m not a massive fan of beauty standards today. I feel like people are socially conditioned to only be beautiful if they are part of these standards and I just don’t agree with it and I don’t like it,” she told Daily Star

Not only does she fully embrace her signature look, but she also hopes it will earn her some superlatives in the future.

“I just like to make a statement and the brows do that for me,” Hailford told Daily Star. “They started off normal size and they just got bigger over time and I just like to look different. It would be cool if they were Britain’s biggest eyebrows.”

The mother says her life motto is, “bigger the brow, bigger the boy.”

Sammie-Jo Hailford addresses eyebrow criticism

“Can you do a video of you outside? Just to show us you’re serious on those eyebrows,” a user told Hailford.

The mom obliged the request and went out on a rainy day with her massive eyebrows and all.

“People have said I shouldn’t be a mum and they are going to ring social services because of my eyebrows,” Hailford told Daily Star. “They can call social services because I have nothing to hide. My eyebrows don’t determine whether I’m a good mother or not.”

After speaking out, people began to leave messages of encouragement for Hailford on her videos.

“I think you’re fab showing youth of today it doesn’t matter what you look like, just be who you want to be,” someone wrote

“Don’t let the haters stop you,” another said

“Keep going, hun. Never change for anyone,” a person commented
