Woman’s dad decides to catfish as her on a dating app to try to find her a boyfriend: ‘You need to shut this down’

A TikToker who goes by Crown (@illbecrown) shared the wild story of how her dad started catfishing as her on a dating site to try to find her a boyfriend.

Crown is a TikToker whose dad wants her to settle down — whether she wants to or not. In a recent video, Crown shared the story of how her father created an account for her on a Christian dating app. He then proceeded to try to set her up with men on the app. The wild story has racked up more than 2 million views on TikTok and had viewers in shock.

The video begins with Crown sitting in her car looking at the camera.

“So my dad is on a Catholic dating app catfishing men as me,” Crown says, jumping right into the story.

Crown explains that the whole thing started because her father thinks the reason she hasn’t found a partner and settled down is because she’s not seeking out the right men.

“He’s like, ‘The reason you’re still single is that you’re not on Christian dating apps,’” Crown recalls.

So Crown’s dad took matters into his own hands and created a dating profile of her on a Catholic dating app.

“We’re at this family dinner, and he looks up at me and he’s like, ‘How tall are you?’” Crown recalls. “And I was like, ‘Why are you asking me this?’”

Over the course of dinner, Crown’s dad continued to ask her questions, making her increasingly confused and suspicious.

“I was like, ‘What is going on over there?’” Crown says. “And then I see him snapping photos of me as I’m like, mid-bite.”

Crown’s dad finally admitted that he was making a dating app profile for her, and even paid $16 to sign up!

“The next day at breakfast, I wake up, and my dad’s like, ‘You have two new matches,’” Crown continues. “And for some reason, he put all the settings of these men in Ohio, [but] I live in California. And I was like, ‘Dad, you need to shut this down.'”

“Then yesterday, I get a text from my mom, and she’s like, ‘There’s 30 more men that are interested in you. John has messaged you twice today,” Crown says. “And I was like, ‘Mom, John has messaged Dad twice today.’”

TikTok viewers had a lot to say about catfishing

Viewers were shocked by Crown’s dad’s catfishing experiment!

“We need to know everything about this!” one viewer wrote.

“The way I would never speak to my father again,” commented another TikToker.

“I’m sure John and your dad will be very happy,” joked another viewer.
