Matt Thompson of Thompson Woodworks created his own backyard bar and it’s pretty sweet.
The woodworker is known for his unique crafts like a bird resort or hot dog-serving picnic table. After making several spaces for local wildlife, Thompson decided to make a similar dwelling for himself.
“I’ve built bars for squirrels and birds earlier this year. I decided it was time to build one for myself,” he explained on Facebook.
Thompson shared a video tour of the rather elaborate backyard bar. There’s a custom-built dartboard, a full outdoor bar cabana with beer on tap, a flat-screen television and a swing. The floor and bar area is fitted with LED lights that change color at night. There’s even a remote-controlled smoke machine for when the party really gets started. Inside the back room, there’s a fridge with the beer canisters and the tap system.
The video received over 270,000 views on Facebook.
“This is amazing. This is definitely on my bucket list to own,” one user commented.
“I need this! This is exactly what I’ve been trying to find for the backyard,” another wrote.
“My dream backyard bar,” one person said.
An outdoor bar is a great way to socialize with friends and family in your social-distancing pod (a tightknit group of people who you know have completed quarantine that you can safely visit). The airflow outside is much safer during the pandemic, so Thompson has got the right idea.
