It goes without saying that we shop with our eyes first. However, aesthetics aside, there’s something satisfying about finding a brand that’s also ethically and morally in tune with the world. Otherwild is a perfect example of this.
The queer-identified, woman-owned brand has an online presence as well as a physical location, design studio and event space located in Los Angeles, California. Most importantly, the brand centers ethics at its core.
Founded in 2012, Otherwild’s mission is to showcase goods made with care by artists and designers. Some of the featured products range from one-of-a-kind apparel to home cleaning and personal care products. Above all, the featured items are low-to-no-waste and are reusable under the moniker “Otherwild General.”
Shop: Otherwild Diner Tumblers, $35
The brand puts its own artistic spin on products folks use every day. For instance, these hand-poured, reusable diner tumblers feature a unique finish, making each one slightly different. Since these are hand-made, the brand recommends that you hand wash them to preserve their design and character.
This Lund London bottle is the perfect example of a standard, everyday piece that’s been artistically reimagined. Made of insulated stainless steel, this bottle features a retro, minimalistic design. The vacuum-sealed and double-walled bottle keeps drinks hot for up to 12 hours and cold for up to 24 hours.
Lund London, though previously sold on Otherwild, is no longer available for purchase on the site. However, it is currently available at The Grommet.
